Litter & toileting
How many litter trays does my cat need?
A useful rule is one tray per cat, plus one extra, placed in different quiet locations. Two trays beside each other may feel like a single toileting station to a cat.
A good next step
- Choose trays about one-and-a-half times your cat’s body length.
- Make entry easier for kittens, senior cats and cats with limited mobility.
- Keep trays away from food, water and noisy appliances.
