Behaviour
Are my cats playing or fighting?
Balanced play usually includes pauses and role-swapping, with relaxed bodies and both cats choosing to return. Conflict is more likely when one cat persistently chases or blocks the other, there is growling or screaming, or one cat hides and avoids resources afterwards.
A good next step
- Do not put your hands between fighting cats.
- Provide distance and multiple separated resources.
- Ask a qualified behaviour professional or vet for ongoing tension.
